Hello and welcome to CricketCountry s live coverage of the final of ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2016 between India and West Indies at Dhaka on Sunday. Valentine’s Day 2016 will be a romantic evening for one of these two teams. Rahul Dravid has been instrumental in ensuring India reach the final unfazed. One feels his calming presence and constant guidance has been invaluable for the young team, which has so far gone undefeated in the tournament. On the other hand, West Indies nearly did not reach the playoffs, with a closely-fought and ultimately controversial win over Zimbabwe helping them through. However, since then they have been a dominant force, smashing past all their other opponents. Live Cricket Scorecard: India vs West Indies, ICC Under-19 World Cup 2016 Final at Dhaka

He makes no mistake in completing the return catch from Goolie on the last ball of the 29th over. And he is off to a big celebratory run! West Indies however need just one partnership to end India’s hopes, but they are under pressure. India has to take advantage here, make more breakthroughs quickly. From here, 63 required more off 19 overs. OUT! Jyd Goolie c & b Mayank Dagar 3(9)

Live Cricket Score: West Indies U19 75/4 in 28 overs | Target 146 | BATTING: Keacy Carty 25(69), Jyd Goolie 2(4): Mayank Dagar, you beauty! WICKET, Shamar Springer dismissed just after Wet Indian skipper’s wicket. Dagar tempted him with a full toss, Springer goes down to slog sweep and caught by Jaffer again at long-off. Dagar and Jaffer once again, like the previous dismissal. Arman Jaffer has been very impressive. It is very likely for a 17-year-old to drop catches under this pressure. Just 2 runs and a wicket off that 27th over. Washington Sundar comes in for his penlitimate over, just three runs off it. OUT! Shamar Springer c Arman Jaffer b Mayank Dagar 3(9)

He makes a breakthrough. Out of no where! West Indies had the situation all under control, the singles and occasional boundaries would easily take them to the target but now they suddenly have a new man on the crease. Hetmyer connects it decently, but only could make it fly until long-on where Jaffer goes wild finishing an easy catch. The West Indian skipper walks back in disappointment. A maiden, three runs and a single follow that good 23rd over. OUT! Shimron Hetmyer c Arman Jaffer b Mayank Dagar 23(53)

Live Cricket Score: West Indies U19 55/2 in 19 overs | Target 146 | BATTING: Shimron Hetmyer 18(40), Keacy Carty 15(41): Mahipal Lomror is the fifth bowler to come into atcion in this match for India, after Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, Washington Sundar and Rahul Batham. From here, West Indies need 91 from 31 overs, almost less than 3 an over. Meanwhile, if you remember the 2008 final, India were in a similar situation. They were bundled out for 159, a little more than today’s total. However, Virat Kohli’s leadership and an excellent bowling attack that also included Ravindra Jadeja, Iqbal Abdullah and Punjab’s Siddharth Kaul bowled out the opponents for 103 to lift the cup. This can just motivate Ishan Kishan and his boys right now!

Meanwhile a message from the Under-19 World Cup winning skipper!

India has managed 13 runs in the last 4 overs. Still no increase in the run rate, Lomror and Sarfaraz have been kept under some disciplined West Indian bowling. He tempts Washington Sundar with a full toss, who drives it to the top trying to clear the mid-off but only manages to land it into the hands of Josheph. The latter has been a part of every dismissal so far for the West Indies. With Kishan, Pant, Anmolpreet and Washington back to the pavilion, India are clearly on the backfoot in this final. Either of these have always delivered in the tournament and with all of them gone, India once again is depending on their most trusted middle-order batsman, Sarfaraz to bring in some of his magic today.
