Nepal beat registered a comprehensive 32-run win in their opening match against New Zealand and will go into the match against Ireland full of confidence. Ireland on the other hand, suffered a 79-run win over India in their opening tie. It is a crucial match for both teams as Nepal will want to make it two in a row and Ireland will be desperate to get off the mark in the series. The outcome of the match could go a long way in determining whether or not the teams make it to the next stage of the tournament. Nepal now go into the tournament with two consecutive wins, earlier defeating favorites New Zealand and now defeating Ireland. Yogendra Singh Karki has been the star with the bat for Nepal, making 61 runs. Karki was well supported by Aarif Sheikh who made a quick 31. Earlier for the second wicket Karki and Sunil Dhamala shared a 55 run stand to consolidate their innings. For Nepal in this match Sandeep Lamichhane has been man to watch ofr picking a fifer and also getting a hat-trick, first player in this edition.

Nepal’s Sandeep Lamicchane was the star of the match getting a well deserved fifer along with taking a hat-trick in the process. Lamichhane hat-trick was the first of this edition, also became the first Nepal player to do so . This is the fourth U-19 player to take a hat-trick. Harry Tector was the highest run-getter for Ireland making 30 valuable runs. Nepal in their 50 overs need 132 runs to win.

Lamichhane bowls Tucker, trying to drive one through mid-on completely miss the ball and gets his stumps rattled. Lamichhane will look to get his hat-trick as new batsmen comes in. OUT!! Adam Dennison tries a flashing drive only to manage an edge to the wicket-keeper without troubling the scorer. OUT!! Tucker in an attempt to sweep the ball manages to lob the ball high up in the air and gives an easy catch at mid wicket.

Gary McClintock goes trying to loft one over the covers to a full pitched delivery of Sandeep Lamichhane. McClintock only ends up giving catch at long on. Ireland have looked in trouble losing three quick wickets in couple of overs.

Ireland made an excellent start in their match against India as they sent their skipper Ishan Kishan back to the pavilion for a duck. They kept striking at regular intervals, but eventually gave away many runs in the middle and ended up conceding 268. They too got off to a shaky start but the partnership between Lorcan Tucker and William McClintock for the fifth wicket gave them some hope, but the batsmen below them did not step up.
Nepal, just like they did in 2006, have beaten New Zealand in the tournament once again. He skipper Raju Rijal led from the front and top-scored for Nepal with 48. His knock along with a couple more helped Nepal put up 238 on the board. New Zealand were bundled out for just 206 in the 48th over. Dipendra Singh Airee was the star with the ball, finishing with figures of 3 for 24.
