India and South Africa clash in the ICC World T20 2014 semi-final at Dhaka on April 4. This is the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup. The winner of this match will play Sri Lanka in the final on April 6. India topped Group 2 to qualify from the Super 10s. South Africa finished second in Group 2. India have won all their four matches so far. South Africa have lost one and won three.
MS Dhoni‘s men defeated Pakistan, West Indies, Bangladesh and Australia. All the victories were by comfortable margins. South Africa lost a close match against Sri Lanka. They also edged out New Zealand, the Netherlands and England. Sri Lanka beat West Indies on April 3 by 27 runs via Duckworth-Lewis method in the first semi-final.
Faf du Plessis will lead South Africa in their second T20 World Cup semi-final. The Proteas last played a semi-final in the ICC World T20 2009. After winning the inaugural edition in 2007, this is the first time India have made it this far in the tournament. Spin could play a major role in the match as conditions are conducive for that. India have Ravichandran Ashwin, Amit Mishra and Ravindra Jadeja in their ranks. South Africa have JP Duminy and Imran Tahir.
