Hello and welcome to the live cricket updates of the first match of the five-ODI series between India and West Indies. I, Vishal Mehra along with my co-blogger Aditya Sahay, will bring all the live cricket scores from the contest at Port of Spain. We will present to you all the live happenings from the ground as well as social media. While India come from a gut-wrenching final defeat by the hands of Pakistan in ICC Champions Trophy 2017, West Indies managed to draw 1-1 against Afghanistan, the newly promoted full-member side. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: India vs West Indies, 1st ODI

India have a lot of concerns on their plate, starting with the off-field antics that have dominated the mainstream media. The Virat Kohli-Anil Kumble spat is refusing to reach conclusion. However, once cricket gets underway, these things are likely to be buried.

Indian selectors have been bold in their selection for this tour, picking up Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav in place of the more accomplished Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah.

Switching sides, the West Indies have been going through a rough patch themselves, be it on or off the field. From the recent change of name of the Cricket Board to hopes of direct qualification for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, everything has been quite haphazard. West Indies could very well have a shot at winning the series, as the pitches here are bound to be slow, low and timid, which will be hard for the Indian side to conquer quickly after returning from flat tracks in England.
