Hello and welcome CricketCountry’s coverage of the first Twenty20 International (T20I) between India Women and New Zealand Women at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. We will be bringing all the live updates of the first Twenty20 International (T20I) between India Women and New Zealand Women here.
India Women successfully defeated New Zealand Women in the fifth and final One-Day International (ODI) few days back and won the five-match series 3-2. This has been a competitive series and both teams have won two matches each. India Women will now play three T20Is against New Zealand Women, with the first match on Saturday.
India played to turn a 1-2 deficit into a 3-2 win, the hosts, led ably by Mithali Raj, showcased their collective character and ability to bring up two back-to-back wins against the ‘White Ferns’, captained by veteran Suzie Bates. More importantly, India’s batting that initially appeared extremely vulnerable in the ODI series, came good at vital moments while the fielding too showed appreciable improvement, something that Raj spoke about at the presentation ceremony on Wednesday.
