Ireland face off against United Arab Emirates (UAE) in a crucial Group B qualifier match at Sylhet on Wednesday.Ireland previously had defeated Zimbabwe in a thrilling encounter on Monday as they chased down a stiff total of 164 and won a last-ball thriller against the Brendan Taylor-led outfit.
Ireland will be banking on the services of Paul Stirling who top scored with 60 and also will look up to William Porterfield and Ed Joyce to contribute with the bat. UAE on the other hand went down meekly to the Netherlands in their first qualifying match as they lost the game by six-wickets.
Apart from Shaiman Anwar and Khurram Khan, none of the batsmen look in good nick as they faltered for a modest 151 against Peter Borren’s side. The match is crucial for Khurram Khan’s men as another loss may effectively end their quest to qualify for the Super 10 stages of the ICC World T20 which may mean an easy passage for the other teams.
