Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of Day 1 of the Group C game of the Ranji Trophy 2015-16  match between Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh, live from Keenan Stadium at Jamshedpur. Jharkhand finally got off the mark after a good performance against Kerala in the previous round three of the competition, beating them by 113 runs. Skipper Varun Aaron bowled exceptionally well picking up a five-wicket haul in the first innings, which will surely give him a lot of confidence moving in this round. But it was Shahbaz Nadeem’s seven-wicket haul in the second innings that stole the show. Goa on the other hand are still unbeaten in the competition, but have conceded the first innings lead n three occasions, which they will want to rectify when they face Jharkhand. Both teams will want to get off to a good start on Day One and ensure they continue to dominate throughout the match. Jharkhand will want to carry their momentum on from their previous game into this one and Goa on the other hand will want to get another outright win and stop conceding first innings leads. Goa is currently placed at the No.3 position in the Group C table, whereas, Jharkhand are two places below them at No.6.
