Rain Stoppage.

New Zealand 157/7 | Overs 30: New Zealand don’t seem to find any rhythm against a minnow side of Zimbabwe, except for Martin Gutill, who has been recently dismissed after scoring his century as well. Sikandar Raza dismisses him after making him caught off Tawanda Mupariwa, as Nathan McCullum still remains unbeaten on four.

New Zealand 151/6 | Overs 28: New Zealand have cruised to a high level so far, but not as high as they would have expected as they have lost two more wickets after 13 overs in the form of Tom Latham and Daniel Vettori, both dismissed for nine and six by Kamungozi and Masakadza, respectively. Nathan McCullum is the next man in while Martin Guptill is just three short of his century.

New Zealand 89/4 | Overs 15: Just as I was saying that New Zealand have gained firm control over the game, they have lost a couple of quick wickets again and this time it’s Ross Taylor and Corey Anderson who have fallen prey to Elton Chigumbura. Still a few runs short of their 100, New Zealand are seem to be experimenting with their shots and giving away the wickets. Although this is the perfect platform to experiment, New Zealand must not try to over do it as it in turn would increase the confidence level of Zimbabwe and they would become dangerous later on in the tournament. Martin Guptill, meanwhile scored his half-century off 30 deliveries.

New Zealand 69/3 | Overs 12: New Zealand have gained firm control over Zimbabwe following their shaky start of the loss of two quick wickets of McCullum and Williamson as they have now crossed the 50-runs mark and the two batsmen, Martin Guptill and Ross Taylor are playing completely fine and are comfortable with their gameplay, while the sky seems to be overcast.

New Zealand 28/2 | Overs 5: New Zealand off to a shaky start as they lose two crucial wickets in the form of skipper, Brendon McCullum and Kane Williamson for a cheap score of eight and six respectively and both have been dismissed by Tinashe Panyangara, who seems to be on a roll to prove himself in the mega event. New Zealand must not make the mistake of taking Zimbabwe lightly, and following the loss of two quick wickets, they must not dare to.

Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s coverage of the ICC World Cup 2015, 2nd warm-up game between New Zealand and Zimbabwe from Bert Sutcliffe Oval at Lincoln. I am Ayush Gupta and I will bring you the live updates of the match.

New Zealand are one of the very few big teams to have not won a single ICC World Cup in the entire history. However, it could all change this edition as the mega event is being staged at their own backyard along with Australia, who are the co-hosts as well. New Zealand are undoubtedly a tough team to beat at home, and following their recent good summer back home as well as winning back to back three ODI series, they are high on confidence and look to grab the gold once the tournament gets underway from February 14. Nevertheless, they take on a depleted side of Zimbabwe in a warm-0up game at Lincoln. ICC Cricket World Cup 2015: SCHEDULE & MATCH DETAILS

Zimbabwe have had a tough year in 2014, hardly winning any series. They have also lost their jewel side and are not as dangerous as they used to be a couple of editions ago. However, they have the ammunition to perform good in this edition and still carry the tag of being ‘party spoilers’ as they have done in the past few editions. New Zealand cannot afford to take them lightly as players like Elton Chigumbura, Sikandar Raza, Hamilton Masakadza and Brendan Taylor could give huge trouble to Brendon McCullum‘s tough New Zealand side.
