England’s Prime Minister David Cameron has welcomed Pakistan men and women’s team for their tour to England. Pakistan’s men team will face England in four Tests, five ODIs and a T20I. In an Instagram post, Cameron also said about improvement in the ties and links between the two nations, as well as hoping England can tour Pakistan in near future. The last time these two teams met was in October 2015 at Abu Dhabi. In that tour, Pakistan won the Test series 2-0, but faltered in the ODIs and T20Is.

Pakistan had made two changes in their leadership going into this tour, with Sana Mir being retained as the captain for ODIs whereas Bismah Maroof was heralded as the captain for the two-match T20I series in England. The touring side is not the only one to see changes in the leadership, as Heather Knight was named captain following the retirement of Charlotte Edwards.
