Gujarat Lions are currently comfortably placed at the top of the IPL 9 points table, but their challengers Rising Pune Supergiants are languishing in the lower half of the points table. Even a loss at this point will not prevent RPS for staying at the top, but a loss for RPS will hamper them immensely. RPS finally managed to pull one back in the previous match by beating Sunrisers Hyderababd (SRH) by 34 runs via Duckworth-Lewis (D/L) method. They will need to string together more than just that one win in order to find an even footing going further into the tournament. GL have been one of the best teams on display, if not the very best, and it is no surprise that they are currently No. 1 on the points table.
