(Greetings! Welcome to CricketCountry’s live blog of the eighth match of the ongoing World Cricket League Championship between Scotland and Nepal at the Cambusdoon New Ground in Ayr, Scotland on Friday. We will be presenting to you regular updates on the events of the match. The two sides clashed on Wednesday at the same venue in the game of the tournament, in which Scotland emerged the winner of a closely fought contest by a margin of three runs. Will this match turn out to be as exciting an affair as the previous game? Let us find out! Catch the live scores and updates of this match live here.)
The match will now be played on the reserve day. It will resume from this point. Till then, it is goodbye from here.
Live Cricket Score Scotland 15/0 | Overs 1.4: The 22-over chase has now been paused due to rain. The ten balls bowled in Scotland’s innings has opener George Munsey stroking a couple of boundaries off Sompal Kami in the first over, and his partner Kyle Coetzer gathering a third four off Avinash Karn. Batting: George Munsey 10 (6), Kyle Coetzer 4 (4)
Scotland have started their chase. There is time after all. The target for them is 110 in 22 overs.
The cut-off time for the game being called off is an hour from now, 6 pm local time. The rain, however, doesn’t look like relenting. There is a reserve day for the game—tomorrow.
Update from Ayr: Rain has delayed the start of Scotland’s chase of 168.
LIVE CRICKET SCORE NEPAL 167 in Overs 49.1: And the visitors have finally been bowled out for 167, failing to bat their quota of 50 overs out. Scotland should not face much difficulty in scoring 168 runs in 50 overs at a rate of a little more than three runs per over. BATTING: Shakti Gauchan 6(25)
OUT! Avinash Karn c Kyle Coetzer b Michael Leask 17(12)
LIVE CRICKET SCORE NEPAL 150/9 in Overs 46: Basant Regmi has been castled by Safyaan Sharif for a score of 19 off 42 balls. Just one more wicket to fall for the innings to wind up! BATTING: Avinash Karn 5(2), Shakti Gauchan 2(17)
OUT! Basant Regmi b Safyaan Sharif 19(43)
LIVE CRICKET SCORE NEPAL 127/8 in Overs 40: Baskota departs, after entertaining the crowd with a six and a four. Gets trapped leg-before off the bowling of Evans. Just two more wickets needed for Scotland now! BATTING: Basant Regmi 10(22), Shakti Gauchan 0(3)
OUT! Prithu Baskota lbw Alasdair Evans 16(42)
LIVE CRICKET SCORE NEPAL 105/7 in Overs 35: Scotland are on top of things at the moment, with seven wickets down after 35 overs with just 105 runs added to the Nepal total. And its drinks now! Scotland will look to clean the remainder of the batting order, and start their chase of what should be a modest target for them. BATTING: Prithu Baskota 6 (32), Basant Regmi 0(5)
OUT Sompal Kami c Preston Mommsen b Gavin Main 7(13)
LIVE CRICKET SCORE NEPAL 96/6 in Overs 31: Only one boundary has come off the last five overs, that too off Vesawkar’s bat. Nepal are scoring at a meagre rate of a little over three runs per over, and will end up at a modest total of 150 at this rate. And Veswakar has been dismissed! Gets caught by Cross off the bowling of Evans to depart for 30 off 66 balls, as Nepal have now lost their sixth wicket with 94 on board. BATTING: Prithu Baskota 4(23), Sompal Kami 1(3)
OUT! Sharad Vesawkar c Matthew Cross b Alasdair Evans 30(66)
LIVE CRICKET SCORE NEPAL 75/5 in Overs 25: Scotland have managed to break the budding partnership, one that was starting to become a headache for the hosts. Airee departs for 16, getting an edge while attempting a flick towards the leg-side, allowing wicketkeeper Matthew Cross to take an easy catch. Nepal have now lost half of their side. BATTING: Sharad Vesawkar 14(45), Prithu Baskota 1(11)
OUT! Pradeep Airee c Matthew Cross b Michael Leask 16(34)
LIVE CRICKET SCORE NEPAL 66/4 in Overs 20: Sharad Vesawkar and Pradeep Airee have added 25 runs for the fifth wicket so far, with the two batsmen steadying themselves at the crease at the moment. Nepal will hope for the two to stick to the crease to put Nepal to a position of safety. BATTING: Sharad Vesawkar 12(36), Pradeep Airee 13(24)
LIVE CRICKET SCORE NEPAL 42/4 in Overs 12: Nepal have been handed perhaps their biggest blow so far in the match, one that is bound to have an impact on the rest of the batting order unless Vesawkar and Airee can forge a special partnership at this stage. The Nepal captain has been caught by wicketkeeper Matt Cross off the bowling of Gavin Main for a lowly score of 10 off 11 balls. BATTING: Sharad Vesawkar 3(8), Pradeep Airee 0(4)
OUT! Paras Khadka c Matthew Cross b Gavin Main 10(11)
LIVE CRICKET SCORE NEPAL 33/3 in Overs 10: Scotland have struck again! This time it is Safyaan Sharif who does it for his side. Anil Mandal is the victim as he gets caught at third man by Craig Wallace to depart after adding 9 runs off 21 balls. Nepal lose their second wicket with 20 on board. Nine runs however, have been added in the eighth over, the most successful one so far. The visitors are handed another blow though, when Gyanendra Malla is trapped leg-before by Mark Watt, off the latter’s first ball, to depart for 16 off 20 balls. BATTING: Paras Khadka 2(6), Sharad Veswawkar 2(5)
OUT! Anil Mandal c Craig Wallace b Safyaan Sharif 9(21), Gyanendra Malla lbw Mark Watt 16(20)
LIVE CRICKET SCORE NEPAL 12/1 in Overs 5: Nepal are off to a shaky start, losing the wicket of Mahesh Chetri in the third over itself. Chhetri gets caught by George Munsey off the bowling of Alasdair Evans. The Scotland opening duo of Evans and Safyaan Sharif are doing a brilliant job at the moment, allowing the visitors to score at a rate barely over two per over. BATTING: Gyanendra Malla 6(13), Anil Mandal 9(19)
OUT! Mahesh Chhetri c George Munsey b Alasdair Evans 3(8).
Play has been delayed due to rain at the venue. Stay tuned for more updates.
Teams:
Scotland: Kyle Coetzer, Richie Berrington, Alasdair Evans, Michael Leask, Safyaan Sharif, Craig Wallace, Matthew Cross (wk), Preston Mommsen (c), Gavin Main, George Munsey, Mark Watt.

Toss: Scotland have won the toss and have elected to field.
In the previous game between the two sides, the hosts rode on vital knocks by skipper Preston Mommsen (78), as well as Con de Lange (55) and Kyle Coetzer (41) to finish on a score of 235 for seven in their rain-curtailed quota of 36 overs. Mommsen and de Lange were quite destructive in their 113-run partnership that came off just 77 deliveries. The Scotland skipper struck five boundaries and four sixes during his stay at the crease. Nepal, in reply, were cruising for the most part, thanks to a century by Anil Mandal (100 off 93 balls) and a 55-ball 70 by captain and star all-rounder Paras Khadka. The visitors were doing well at 215 for two, although the asking rate was climbing quite steeply, before a couple of quick dismissals changed the course of the game. Nepal were left needing 17 runs off the last over, but Mandal’s dismissal off the first ball of the over was the final nail in the coffin for Nepal.
