AB de Villiers (Man of the match): Very happy about today. Lot of hard work. I was very happy about the way we fought today. Got a decent total towards the end. I try to keep it simple (about his batting). It was important for me to stick to my gameplan today, and I thought most of the batsmen batted well today. Mohammad Tauqir: We bowled well, during the first innings. We also batted well, especially Swapnil Patil, lasting nearly 50 overs, and that is a good thing. We got a lot of confidence from that. We got some academy and facilities in Dubai, and we got some youngsters in Dubai who need to get trained accordingly. The more we play against these nations, the better it is for our cricket. Though the Proteas register a fine 146-run win, there are a plenty of questions remaining to be answered before the South Africans head to the all-important quarter-final. While the lower-order batting was brilliant, especially Farhaan Behardien (64 off 31), the top-order faced a few collapses. In the bowling department, Dale Steyn looked quite off-colour. Tahir is back into the attack, and is despatched for a four off the second ball of the over with Anwar sweeping the spinner towards fine leg. Anwar takes a single off the fourth ball, with Patil blocking the last two deliveries
Morkel to bowl the 27th over. Patil finds the outside edge to send the ball towards third man. The partnership, in the meantime, is three runs away from touching the 50-run mark, which is finally breached in the fourth delivery of the over, with Morkel’s mega bouncer flying high over the wicket-keeper’s head and running away to the boundary for four byes. Six runs come off the 27th over. UAE need 245 to win from 23 overs.
Philander to the attack. Anwar begins to finally stretch his arms, smashing the third ball of the 26th over towards the extra-cover boundary. Anwar attacks Philander again, this time off the fifth ball of the over, sending the ball flying over the bowler’s head. Dot off the last ball, with eight runs coming off that over.
The UAE innings is halfway through, with UAE needing another 259 to win with seven wickets in hand. A single is all that the batsmen at the crease can afford in the 25th over.
Vernon Philander returns to the attack, and smashes the second ball of the over, a bouncer, towards the mid-wicket boundary, followed by taking a single.

South Africa take on United Arab Emirates (UAE) in a Pool B match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 at Wellington. South Africa go into the game after a massive defeat at the hands of Pakistan. Even UAE suffered a huge defeat at the hands of Pakistan in their previous encounter. This game is crucial for both teams. South Africa started out in a shaky manner. They were tipped to be the hot favourites ahead of the tournament but as the tournament has progressed, they have not been able to live up to that tag. Although they registered victories against West Indies, Zimbabwe and Ireland, they were unable to beat the likes of India and Pakistan, which raises doubts in many people’s minds if they are really the tournament favourites. UAE, were not expected to win a single game in this tournament and went into the tournament with very less expectations. They have managed to show glimpses of what they’re capable of now and then. Shaiman Anwar became their nation’s first ever century maker in a World Cup and a lot will depend on him once again. The experience of Khurram Khan will be key as well. UAE are expected to lose again against South Africa in their match, but they will look to put in their best efforts and exit the tournament with heads held high.
