Live Cricket Score Pakistan 174/9 | Overs 19.2 | BATTING: Mohammad Irfan 1(1), Imad Wasim 24(14): First ball from Binura Perera is tapped away to the off side for a quick single. Imad Wasim has the ball in the slot next ball and he finishes it of with a SIX over midwicket! Resilient at it’s epitome from Pakistan in that match! The ball was on a full length angling into the pads and Wasim held his nerve to hit that clean! What a win for Pakistan. They seized a heist!

Live Cricket Score Pakistan 167/9 | Overs 19 | BATTING: Imad Wasim 18(13): Anwar Ali smashes six of the first ball from Malinga, a poor ball on the pads. Next ball yields two because of a misfield and the next ball is another horrible ball on the pads and it is flicked for a FOUR! Fourth ball gets the wicket as Lasith Malinga finally varies his pace and gets the wicket of a rampant Anwar Ali, can Pakistan still get this done? Next ball yields a single. Imad Wasim fails to properly connect with the next ball but still manages to hit it to long off and sets off for two, but he’s run out. OUT! Anwar Ali 46(17) c K Perera b L Malinga, RUN OUT! Sohail Tanvir 1(1)

Live Cricket Score Pakistan 153/7 | Overs 18 | BATTING: Anwar Ali 34(13), Imad Wasim 17(12): Anwar Ali is dismantling the Sri Lankan attack. After launching an all out assault on Shehan Jayasuriya in the previous over, he hammered Thisara Perera for a six and a four. That is some resolute tail ender batting and Pakistan need just 20 off the last two overs.

Live Cricket Score Pakistan 141/7 | Overs 17 | BATTING: Anwar Ali 23(8), Imad Wasim 16(11): Shehan Jayasuriya was the hero after the 15th over for dismissing Shahid Afridi, but has conceded 21 runs in the 17th giving Pakistan an outside chance of sealing an improbable victory. Anwar Ali was the batsman who took the bowler apart and smashed him for a couple of sixes and a four.

Live Cricket Score Pakistan 113/7 | Overs 15 | BATTING: Anwar Ali 5(3), Imad Wasim 6(4): Shehan Jayasuriya does the job for Lanka by clean bowling Shahid Afridi. After that wicket, it suddenly looks so impossible for Pakistan to track it down from here. Jayasuriya kept it single and wasn’t under pressure, angled it across and Afridi missed it in attempt to slog sweep. OUT! Shahid Afridi 45(22) b Shehan Jayasuriya

Live Cricket Score Pakistan 107/6 | Overs 14 | BATTING: Shahid Afridi 45(21), Imad Wasim 5(2): Lasith Malinga managed to keep Shahid Afridi subdued in the 13th over. He varied his pace well and did the same with his lengths. Thisara Perera spoilt the good work by bowling a full toss on the first ball of the next over. Rizwan then collected two off the next ball. He got the wicket the next ball and did the trick with the slower ball and the length was good too, almost a yorker. Rizwan departs but will that have an effect on how Afridi is playing? Imad Wasim is the next man in. Gives strike to Afridi, slower ball in the block hole to Afridi and he can only it tap it away for a single. the final ball is hit for FOUR by Wasim thanks to a cheeky lap sweep to fine leg. OUT! Mohammad Rizwan 17(18) b T Perera

Live Cricket Score Pakistan 88/5 | Overs 12 | BATTING: Shahid Afridi 39(17), Mohammad Rizwan 9(12): Shahid Afridi is keeping Pakistan in this chase. While he’s at the crease anything can happen. Bowlers are under pressure now, the only way out is to pick his wicket and soon too. Further delay can prove disastrous. He struck a couple of sixes in the 12th over.

Live Cricket Score Pakistan 61/5 | Overs 10 | BATTING: Shahid Afridi 16(9), Mohammad Rizwan 5(8): Shahid Afridi seems to be in his element here, smashed a four and a six of consecutive balls in the 10th over. But, Pakistan still far away from where they would have liked to have been at this stage. Meanwhile, Lasith Malinga has brought himself on.

Live Cricket Score Pakistan 44/5 | Overs 8 | BATTING: Shahid Afridi 2(2), Mohammad Rizwan 2(3): Pakistan are staring down the barrel well and truly now. The last hope for them was a steady partnership was when Malik and Umar Akmal were out in the middle. But, Akmal was run out thanks to his own hasty call. In the eighth over, Malik crumbled to the mounting pressure, he went down the pitch, failed to make contact to Siriwardana and was stumped out. Afridi and Rizwan are the new bastmen in. OUT! Umar Akmal 4(4), OUT! Shoaib Malik 8(12) st Perera b Siriwardana

Live Cricket Score Pakistan 34/3 | Overs 6 | BATTING: Shoaib Malik 6(7), Umar Akmal 0(2): Pakistan’s quest for some quick runs after the early double blow was helped a little by five wides due to a high bouncer by Binura Fernando in the fifth over. Perera bowled the fourth over quite well, varying his lengths and pace smartly. In the sixth over, a mix up between Shoaib Malik resulted in the run out of Mohammad Hafeez, thanks to some good work from Dilshan at point. Pakistan in deep trouble. OUT! Mohammad Hafeez 11(12) run out

Live Cricket Score Pakistan 17/2 | Overs 3 | BATTING: Mukhtar Ahmed 4(6), Mohammad Hafeez 4(1): Pakistan have started slowly but not lost a wicket and that is important in the opening overs. Shehan Jayasuriya bowled a good first over angling it across the right handed batsmen. Binura Ahmed standing 6 ft 6 inches tall has gotten good bounce to deceive the batsmen. In the third over, he got the wicket of Ahmed Shehzad who was trying to hit him over midwicket across the line but got bowled, he was deceived by the sudden lack of pace! A few balls later, his extra bounce came in handy to dismiss Mukhtar. He tried to pull the back of length delivery but miscued it because of extra bounce and was caught at deep midwicket. OUT! Ahmed Shehzad 7(8) b Binura Fernando, OUT! Mukhtar Ahmed 4(7) b Binura Fernando

Innings report

Live Cricket Score Sri Lanka 172/7 | Overs 20 | BATTING: Kapugedra 48(25): Good final over for Sri Lanka. Kapugedra finishes with an unbeaten 48. Couple of boundaries came of that over, one from each batsman. Sri Lanka will be happy with how they came back in this game. Kapugedra and Shehan Jayasuriya ensured Sri Lanka got to a good total despite other batsmen being relatively ordinary. Shanaka was dismissed of the last ball, getting out in an attempt to take a quick bye after Kapugedra failed to make contact on the final delivery. OUT! MD Shanaka 7(4) run out

Live Cricket Score Sri Lanka 159/6 | Overs 19 | BATTING: MD Shanaka 1(1), Kapugedra 41(22): Irfan gets the wicket first ball of a fullish delivery. Siriwardana fails to time the shot over mid off. Next ball is edged for FOUR! Third ball was hit to long off for a SIX. Irfan comes back well thereafter. Four runs of the final three deliveries. OUT! Siriwardana 23(19) c Ahmed b Irfan

Live Cricket Score Sri Lanka 145/5 | Overs 18 | BATTING: Milinda Siriwardana 23(18), Kapugedra 28(18): Starts of with a length ball outside off, Siriwardana hits it to backward point and gets four for it. Next ball is a wide. Follows up with a nice slower yorker outside off, batsmen gets just a single. Third legal delivery by Anwar Ali is a slower short one, Kapugedra mistimes the pull but it fall safe, single taken. Fourth ball is on a length outside off, placed towards deep point for a single. Short ball next up, pulled to midwicket and two quick runs taken. Kapugedra gets a low full toss next, and smashes it over midwicket for a SIX!

Live Cricket Score Sri Lanka 129/5 | Overs 17 | BATTING: Milinda Siriwardana 17(15), Kapugedra 19(15): Good slower ball by Sohail Tanvir to start off, batsman tried to cut but was beaten by lack of pace. Second ball was cut away for a single. Third ball was short and pulled but it only yielded one run for Kapugedra. Next ball, Siriwardana tries to be cheeky, but gets just a single. Next ball is a slower one, Kapugedra catches the pace this time and smacks it over the bowlers head for a six. Last ball yields a single to extra cover.

Live Cricket Score Sri Lanka 118/5 | Overs 16 | BATTING: Milinda Siriwardana 15(12), Kapugedra 10(12): Good over by Mohammad Irfan. Bowled the short ones well and even got in a couple of well directed bouncers. His pace was right up there. Just five runs of that over. The accelerrator has to be stepped on now.

Live Cricket Score Sri Lanka 113/5 | Overs 15 | BATTING: Milinda Siriwardana 11(8), Kapugedra 9(10): These two batsmen are showing some intent and are playing responsibly at the same time. But, the run rate has to go further up from here. These two must stay till the end if Sri Lanka want a challenging total.

Live Cricket Score Sri Lanka 97/5 | Overs 13 | BATTING: Milinda Siriwardana 9(4), Kapugedra 0(2): Shehan Jayasuriya has been a lot more astute with his shot selection than any other batsman today. His set his eye in nicely and Pakistan will be eager to get his wicket and just as that is typed, Jayasuriya has thrown away his wicket off a full toss. good innings nonetheless. But, Sri Lanka are in a world of trouble. OUT! Shehan Jayasuriya 40(32) c Imad Wasim b Sohail Tanvir

Live Cricket Score Sri Lanka 65/4 | Overs 10 | BATTING: Milinda Siriwardana 1(1), Shehan Jayasuriya 17(19): Not many things going Sri Lanka’s way at the moment. Thisara Perera has once again failed when his team needed him most. He was stumped by Rizwan off Malik’s bowling. He tried to hit across the line, but failed to make any contact. OUT! Thisara Perera 1 (3) st Mohammad Rizwan b Shoaib Malik

Live Cricket Score Sri Lanka 62/3 | Overs 9 | BATTING: Thisara Perera 1(1), Shehan Jayasuriya 17(16): Shahid Afridi too clever for the newcomers. He bowled the slider at an angle with a hint of extra pace at the stumps and de Silva was clueless about it, it went through and he was bowled. Sri Lanka in big trouble, they need a good knock from T Perera now. OUT! Dhananjaya de Silva 14(15) b Afridi

Live Cricket Score Sri Lanka 60/2 | Overs 8 | BATTING: Dhananjaya de Silva 14(14), Shehan Jayasuriya 16(12): After the loss of two early wickets, Sri Lanka needed a partnership.Jayasuriya and de Silva have so far survivied four overs which is a good sign but they need to keep the scoreboard ticking too. De Silva was going a little slower than required but alleviated some of the pressure with a lovely chip over the in field for four in the eighth over. That will give him some confidence.

Live Cricket Score Sri Lanka 32/2 | Overs 4 | BATTING: Shehan Jayasuriya 2(2): Shoaib Malik does the trick with his pace variations and this time he’s sent the dangerous Kusal Perera back to the hut. That was poor temperament from Perera yet again. He got a four the previous delivery but he went to hit the next ball and gave the charge. Deceived by lack of pace and the dip, the ball went missed his aggressive and incongruous bat swing and he was bowled. OUT! Kusal Perera 19 (14) b Shoaib Malik

Live Cricket Score Sri Lanka 26/1 | Overs 3 | BATTING: Shehan Jayasuriya 1(1), Kusal Perera 14(9): What has Dilshan done there? Runs were coming well for Sri Lanka and that was an unnecessary! He got one reprieve when he was dropped at short midwicket when he tried to pull a full toss, he smashed the next ball for four. And, then hit the next ball exactly where he was dropped, this time Mohammad Hafeez latched on. OUT! Tillakaratne Dilshan 10(8) c Hafeez b Anwar Ali

Live Cricket Score Sri Lanka 19/0 | Overs 2 | BATTING: Tillakaratne Dilshan 6(5), Kusal Perera 12(7): Sri Lanka have begun their innings with evident positivity. Dilshan struck a convincing boundary in the very first over. Kusal Perera got a couple of streaky boundaries. But the runs are coming Sri Lanka’s way and that is essential. Pakistan can take heart from the fact that they have managed to find the edge on a couple of occasions and the crucial first wicket may be round the corner.

Sri Lanka, is more or less going through a transition phase at present, with most of the senior players retired and few on the verge of retirement, the young players coming have immense wealth of talent, but lack of international exposure has led to a dreadful performence in the series.
