Good evening! Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of India vs New Zealand 2017-18. This is the second T20I between the two teams. I am Ayush Gupta and I will bring to you all the live updates and scores from the exciting match happening at Rajkot. So far in the tour, India have won the ODI series as well as the T20I series-opener and are in a commanding position. However, the No. 1 team in the shortest format has proven to be troublesome for the hosts and a close fight will be on the cards as the visitors will try to win the match and keep the series alive.
India bid goodbye to their veteran pacer Ashish Nehra in the last match, gifting him a memorable victory. That was the first time India won a T20I against New Zealand. Virat Kohli, arguably the best cricketer in the format, is on the verge of breaking yet another record as he needs only 12 runs to become the highest run-getter in the format.
Challenge is bigger for New Zealand as they need to win all the remaining matches in the series to retain their top spot in the format.
The cricketer to look at will be Akshar Patel as it is his home ground. “It’s my home ground so I know what to expect from the wicket. I’m looking to bowl the way I did in the IPL, because you don’t get much turn; it’s skiddy and there’s not much bounce,” Akshar said before the match.
