Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of Day Four of the Round 7 of Ranji Trophy 2017-18. Only Karnataka, Delhi, and Vidarbha had qualified for the quarterfinals till Day Two, but a new team — Mumbai — joined them on Day Three. There were some exciting contests on Day Three. Let us take a glance at some key highlights after Monday’s day’s play:

– Mumbai became the fourth side to enter the knockouts after a spirited 10-wicket victory over Tripura.

– Saurashtra, Gujarat and Kerala close in on victories from their respective fixtures in Group B.

– Baroda and Tamil Nadu have been eliminated.

– Maharashtra pulled off an insignificant win over Assam.

– Bengal and Madhya Pradesh are comfortably placed in their groups.

Mumbai walked off with several accolades on Day Three. They were pushed to the wall to enter the last eight, but showed their strength defeating Tripura with a day to spare. Mumbai declared on their overnight score of 421 for 8 with a lead of 226. In reply, Tripura folded for 288 courtesy 4-wicket hauls from Dhawal Kulkarni and Karsh Kothari. Only Yashpal Singh and Smit Patel showed resistance with fifties. Mumbai completed the formalities thanks to a fine fifty from Prithvi Shaw to storm their way into the knockouts.
