RCB 134/9 in 20 overs, Target 162: That’s it! RPS have won the match by 27 runs! Ben Stokes bowls the final over. Lucky for him, Carlos Brathwaite plays for the Delhi Daredevils. BOWLED HIM! We have had wickets flying all over the place today. Milne being the latest victim. Stokes is having perhaps his best IPL match with the ball. He had just wicket before this match, has picked up 3 in this match alone.
RCB 131/8 in 19 overs, Target 162: Unadkat back into the attack. BOWLED HIM! Slow ball and the ball crashes into Badree’s wickets, who is out for a golden duck. A poor batting display from RCB. RPS have bowled really well today. Their bowlers have taken the pace off the balls on numerous occasions and that seems to have done the trick. RCB will have to put up a better batting performance in the next match, if they are to stay in contention for a top 4 finish.

RCB 125/7 in 18 overs, Target 162: Shardul Thakur back into the attack. SIX! Ful and wide and Negi smashes it over long off. A good start to the over, after Negi managed to pinch two off the first ball. Can RCB make a match out of this one? OUT! Negi looks to clear deep mid-wicket, but in the end an easy catch for Tripathi. Negis is dismissed for 10 off 7. WOW! Incredible fielding from Stokes. Takes the catch beyond the boundary at long on but pulls the ball back into play. Saves 5 runs for his side. BOWLED HIM! Binny gives himself room putside off, exposes his stumps and the ball crashes into his middle stump. This game is now well and truly over! Binny goes for 18 off 8.
RCB 115/5 in 17 overs, Target 162: Dan Christian bowls the 17th over. SIX! A slow ball, Binny waits and deposits over the deep square leg boundary. Will Binny be the one to take RCB closer to the target? FOUR over the wicketkeeper’s head to finish the over. 13 off that over, RCB need 47 off 18.
RCB 102/5 in 16 overs: Stokes into the attack. Stuart Binny is the new batsman. FOUR! Finally a boundary for RCB. Binny plays a beautiful square drive. RCB need many more. FOUR MORE! This time Watson goes over extra cover. Stokes responds with a bouncer. BOWLED HIM! The ball comes back in and Watson swings and misses. Watson dismissed for 14 off 18. RPS all over RCB now. Pawan Negi is the new batsman. 10 runs and a wicket from that over.
RCB 92/4 in 15 overs, Target 162: Unadkat into the attack. RCB need 2-3 good overs to stay alive in the contest. Watson and Jadhav have faced enough deliveries to start taking on the bowling. BOWLED HIM! Jadhav charges down and drags the ball onto his leg stump. Jadhav’s pain sticking innings comes to an end for 18 off 22. Just 5 runs and a wicket off that over.
RCB 87/3 in 14 overs: Shardul Thakur back into the attack. RCB need to start taking some risks and begin hitting boundaries. This match is quickly slipping away from them. Watson swings and misses on a couple of occasions. he is trying to find the fence nevertheless. Shardul bowls excellent variations, making life difficult for the batsmen. Just 4 off that over.
RCB 83/3 in 13 overs, Target 162: Tahir bowls his final over. Another fine over for RPS, boundaries just not coming for RPS at the moment. RPS will not mind the singles at this stage. Tahir finishes with 1 for 27 from his 4 overs. Just 5 off his final over. Time for the strategic time-out.
Not a record AB will be proud of:
29 off 30 balls, SR 96.66 – AB de Villiers' 2nd-slowest IPL inns and 3rd slowest T20 inns after facing 30+ deliveries. #RCBvRPS

RCB 78/3 in 12 overs, Target 162: Christian continues. Miscue from Jadhav, but there’s nobody at min-don and he survives. The required run-rate has gone past 10 now. RCB need to start finding the boundaries regularly now. Another good over for RPS, just 6 off it.
RCB 72/3 in 11 overs, Target 162: Tahir into his third over. Is that out? YES! Dhoni removes the bails in a flash and AB is does not get his foot back in time. Huge wicket for RPS, de Villiers dismissed for 29 off 30. Tahir with the big wicket. Game wide open now. Shane Watson is the new batsman for RCB. Another good over for RPS. Just 5 runs and a wicket off that over.
RCB 67/2 in 10 overs, Target 162: Dan Christian brought back into the attack. Another excellent over from the all-rounder. Has conceded just 7 from his 2 overs so far. and just 4 from this over. Good over for RPS. They will hope that this pressure leads to a wicket soon.
RCB 63/2 in 9 overs, Target 162: Tahir continues. Jadhav and AB do not seem to be in any sort of hurry at the moment. Having said that a filghted delivery from Tahir disappears over long off for a SIX off AB’s bat. That will ease some pressure on RCB. 10 runs off that over.
RCB 53/2 in 8 overs, Target 162: Stokes continues. RPS will be itching to get rid of AB de Villiers now. His wicket will be key from here. If he gets going, RCB will win this match easily. Batsmen kept quiet again this over. Just 4 runs from it eventually.
RCB 49/2 in 7 overs: Imran Tahir into the attack for the first time today. He is RPS’ leading wicket-taker with 7 scalps. Batsmen are kept down to ones and twos in that over. Some good work in the deep by Christian saved RPS a couple of runs. 7 off that over.
RCB 42/2 in 6 overs: Ben Stokes into the wicket. OUT! Stokes gets rid of Kohli. Kohli comes down the track a bit, cuts the ball off the front foot and Rahane takes an easy catch at deep pint. Kohli is dismissed for 28 off 19. Kedar Jadhav is the new batsman for RCB. 3 runs and a wicket off that over. It’s time for the strategic time out.
Won’t be surprised if it was, David!
I just heard a bang on my window!! Was that the ball @msdhoni just hit from Bangalore wow boooooom.

RCB 39/1 in 5 overs: Dan Christian introduced into the attack. Kohli is timing the ball beautifully today. That dropped catch could turn out to be expensive for RPS. Need to get rid of him at the earliest. Imran Tahir yet to bowl today. His 4 overs could be key today. Good over from Christian, just 4 off it.
RCB 35/1 in 4 overs, Target 162: Shardul continues. FOUR! Kohli hits the ball in the air, but just beats Stokes at backward point. FOUR to end the over again. Kohli this time times it beautifully through mid-wicket.
RCB 25/1 in 3 overs, Target 162: Unadkat continues. He mixes it up well, making it difficult for the batsmen to get a bat on the ball. SIX! After a single off the first ball, AB finishes the over with a six to deep mid-wicket. good end to the over. 7 off it.
RCB 18/1 in 2 overs, Target 162: Shardul Thakur bowls the second over. FOUR! Just a push from Kohli and the ball races away to the long off boundary. DROPPED! It’s all happening at Chinnaswamy. Kohli looks to cut, but the outside edge flies to Tiwary at first slip, who drops a simple catch. How costly will that prove to be? THREE! Kohli whips it to fine leg, good work in the deep, but batsmen run three. OUT! Mandeep finds the edge looking to cut, but this time MS Dhoni makes no mistake behind the wickets. Mandeep is out for a duck again. AB de Villiers is the new batsman FOUR! AB cuts and is away with a boundary. 11 off that over.
RCB 7/0 in 1 over, Target 162: Virat Kohli and Mandeep Singh open the bowling for RCB. Unadkat with the new ball. SIX! Brilliant hit from Kohli hoists it over deep square leg. Good start for RCB. But a good over in the end for RPS, just 7 off it.
RPS 161/8 in 20 overs: Milne bows the final over. Unadkat gets a single off the first ball to get Tiwary back on strike. Milne mixing it up beautifully. He has justified his place today in place of Mills. SIX! But Tiwary has continues to play his shots. This time hits a full toss over deep square leg to bring up 160. After that collapse, Tiwary does well t ensure RPS reach 161. He is run out off the final ball for 27 off 11.
RPS 151/7 in 19 0vers: Shane Watson bowls the19th over. FOUR! Full toss and Tiwary smashes it between point and backward point. Good start to the over. FOUR MORE! tiwary goes straight and collects yet another boundary in the long off region. FOUR AGAIN! Tiwary picking his spots well. This time places it between deep cover and long off. Excellent batting. SIX! What a way to finish the over, Tiwary goes straight again and the ball crashes into the sight screen. 19 off that over.
RPS 132/7 in 18 overs: Adam Milne into the attack. BOWLED HIM! Milne strikes first ball. Stokes misses the ball completely and his off stump is knocked over. This is somewhat of a collapse from RPS. Dhoni’s wicket triggered this. Stokes has to depart for 2 off 3. Shardul Thakur is the new batsman. Manoj Tiwary is the other batsman at the crease. GONE! Shardul chips one to de villiers at cover. Milne is now on a hat-trick. Will we see the third hat-trick of IPL 2017? Jay by Milne, Undev Unadkat to face the hat-trick ball. Unadkat digs it out. A full toss from Milne, Unadkat gets the bat down in time. Pacey over this from Milne. RPS have lost their last 5 wickets for just 5 runs. Incredible turnaround by RCB.
Kohli and Smith together once again. Here’s Ravi Shastri’s take:

RPS 130/5 in 17 overs: Aravind to bowl his final over. BOWLED HIM! Aravind this time breaches Smith’s defence. Two set batsmen dismissed off consecutive deliveries. Is this the turning point of the match? Smith goes for 27 off 24. Dan Christian and Ben Stokes are the tow new batsmen for RPS. Aravind has mixed it up very well in this over. OUT! Another one falls! This time Christian chips it straight to the man at deep square leg. Mandeep Singh makes no mistake. A superb over at this juncture of the game. Just 3 runs and 2 wickets off this over. Aravind finishes with 2 for 29.
RPS 127/3 in 16 overs: Watson back into the attack. FOUR! Smith swings and collects a boundary between deep mid-wicket and long on. That brings up the fifty-run stand between Smith and Dhoni. Watson responds with a short ball. Dhoni gives the strike back to Dhoni. Will he go big with 2 balls to go in this over? FOUR! Dhoni just guides the ball through the vacant slip area. Chahal tries his best to cut it out, but he fails. BOWLED HIM! Dhoni drags one back onto his stumps for 28 off 25.
RPS 117/2 in 15 overs: Sreenath Aravind into the attack. Smith tries to cut loose, but has not managed to find his timing yet in the innings. He should perhaps let Dhoni take strike as much as possible. FOUR! Having said that, Aravind bowls one on his leg and he guides that away to the fine leg fence. Not good bowling from the Karnataka quick. 8 off the over. Time for the strategic time-out.
Hello, good evening and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket blog and updates post for the 17th match in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017, between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS). This is Pramod Ananth, and I will be bringing you the live cricket scores and updates of the clash which will be played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Both teams have played 4 games so far and have won just one while losing the rest three and hence are currently lying at the bottom of the IPL 2017 points table with RCB at No. 6 whereas RPS are at the bottom with the Net Run Rate (NRR) being the difference between the two. LIVE CRICKET SCORECARD: Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Rising Pune Supergiant – Match 17
RCB and RPS have been marred with consistency in IPL 2017. RCB played their initial games without Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. But despite these two stalwarts making their comeback, fortunes for RCB are yet to change in this 10th edition of IPL. On the other hand, RPS are yet to find their team combination right. In spite of having all their chief players in the playing XI, RPS are still scraping the bottom of the IPL 10 points table. Moreover, with MS Dhoni being out of touch, a certain sect of fans want Dhoni to be axed for the forthcoming games.
What is more interesting about this game is the fact that Kohli and Smith will be facing each other yet again after the riveting India-Australia Test series. Various incidents throughout the four-game Tests had intensified the rivalry. So it will be interesting to see how these two heavyweights go about when they face each other in this game.
