Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of match 49 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017. King XI Punjab (KXIP) will take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh. This is Kaustubh S. Mayekar, and I will bring you live cricket scores and updates from this contest. This will be a do or die contest for KXIP as defeat will directly put them out of contention from qualifying from playoffs. Even if KXIP wins this contest then they will have continue doing the same in next two matches as well to keep their chances alive for qualifying for playoffs. Full Cricket Scorecard, KKR vs KXIP, Match 49
So far, both these teams have encountered 20 times in IPL history. KKR holds the upper hand with 14 wins and 6 defeats. Even when it comes to playing at Mohali, KKR has better record against KXIP there with three wins from five games. The last time both these teams clashed at Eden Gardens, where KKR opener Sunil Narine blistering batting ripped KXIP’s bowling attack with his short cameo of 18-ball 37. Narine’s attacking batting laid the foundation of victory for KKR in their chase of 171, which they completed in just 16.3 overs.
KXIP biggest worry has been their inconsistent bowling. There has been rarely any occasion when KXIP showed collective bowling performance. Ishant Sharma is expected to excluded from this match as he has been expensive, so as Varun Aaron as well. KXIP will look for someone else in place Aaron to win this match.
