KKR-VS-RCB

Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s coverage of Match 27 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Eden Gardens. I am Aditya Sahay and I will be bringing you the updates from this match. KKR are flying high at the right end of the table, but RCB, on the other hand, have never been able to live up to the expectations, especially after the sort of tournament they had last year. The good news for the visitors is that the AB de Villiers and Tymal Mills will be available for selection in this match, but Samuel Badree is still doubtful. KKR’s batsmen have been dominant in the tournament. Manish Pandey has taken over as the finisher of the team. He is their leading run-scorer with 245 runs at 122.50 and strike rate of 145.83. KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir too has struck a couple of fifties in the tournament so far and has scored 229 runs at 57.25. RCB will be going into this match high on confidence, having won their previous matches. RCB beat Gujarat Lions (GL) by 21 runs and KKR lost their previous game to GL by 4 wickets. Chris Gayle roared back to form in the previous game, striking 77 off just 38 balls, therefore becoming the first ever batsman to score 10,000 T20 runs. A win for KKR will push them one step closer to finishing in the top 4. However if RCB win today, this will be the first time they would have managed to register back-to-back wins in IPL 2017.
