In Match 14 of Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2016, Madurai Super Giants (MSG) take on Karaikudi Kaalai (KK). The match will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The league has seen many close matches so far as every team is trying their best to progress to the knockout stage. So far in the three matches played by MSG, they have won lost all whereas KK have won one and lost two. MSG played against VB Thiruvallur Veerans (VTV), Dindigul Dragons (DDD) and Lyca Kanchi Warriors (LKW) but could not muster a single win. They will have to up their game, especially in their batting department, if they want to improve in the rankings. Their bowling was good in the first two matches but batting remained a concern. On the other hand, in their last encounter it was their bowlers who were taken to the cleaners. Their batsmen came up good but lost by 10 runs in the chase of 200 against LKW.
Talking about KK, they lost the first match by 5 wickets after posting a challenging total. In the 2nd match, they lost by a whopping margin but came good in the last match against Tuti Patriots (TP). KK have had their chances but failed to capitalise on crunch moments. They finally earned a victory in a low-scoring match against TP and this will be them some edge in Match 16 of TNPL 2016.
