Martin Guptill becomes fifth batsman in ODI history to score double ton, during ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 match against West Indies

Martin Guptill smashed an unbeaten 237 from 163 balls against West Indies.

Martin Guptill became the fifth batsmen globally to score a ODI double century and the  first New Zealander to achieve the landmark and only second non-Indian to get to the mark after Chris Gayle. The first ever double hundred was scored by Sachin Tendulkar against South Africa; he got an unbeaten 200. Virender Sehwag followed suit shortly scoring 219 against West Indies. The next batsman to get to the feat was Gayle. Gayle got his double ton in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 itself, making him the first batsman to achieve the milestone in World Cups.
