Bangladesh team has to now face a big setback before their upcoming Test series against Pakistan, as their star opener Mahmudul Hasan has been ruled out of the World Test Championship for the reason being an injury in the groin area.

This news has been confirmed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board on Saturday, August 17 and a replacement for Hasan has not yet been announced.

While fielding during a four-day match against Pakistan Shaheens, the opener sustained a strain on his right groin, which has forced him to miss three weeks of action for the least.

Hasan had been in impressive form as he contributed a significant amount in Bangladesh A’s success against Pakistan Shaheens. He scored 69 and 65 runs in previous matches, and beautifully made 65 runs in the first innings of this four-day game. All this was a clear show of his readiness for the Test series. His absence will prove to be a big setback for Bangladesh as they look forward to face Pakistan.
