Bangladesh teenage sensation Mehedi Hasan has now moved into 33rd spot in the latest ICC’s Test Rankings for Bowlers released by them. Mehedi was the chief architect of Bangladesh’s win over England in the second Test at Dhaka by a massive 108-run on Sunday. Mehedi snatched as many as 19 wickets in his debut Test series for Bangladesh, denting reputation of players like Alastair Cook, Joe Root and Ben Stokes. Mehedi was also awarded the player of the tournament at ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup earlier in the year. Mehedi was placed at 61st in the ranking post Chittagong Test. 12 wickets in the second Test meant Mehedi gained 28 places. Speaking of England bowler’s Chris Woakes has moved up to 18th position, followed by Ben Stokes at 21. Moeen Ali is 3 spots below Stokes at 25th position. India’s Ravichandran Ashiwn still lead the bowling chart with 900 points at No.1 position followed by South African Dale Steyn at No.2. James Anderson at a close No.3 with 853 points. Sri Lanka Test skipper Rangana Herath is 4th with Pakistan’s Yasir Shah rounding of the top 5 as per ICC media release.

In terms of batting rankings England skipper Alastair Cook has climbed one place to 11, while Bangladesh’ opener Tamim Iqbal has risen to 20th place. Mominul Haque also moves to the 26th position while Shakib is just below him on 27th spot. Joe Root has dropped out of the top 3 and is now at number 5.
