Australian pacer Mitchell Johnson is unlikely to be back for the One-Day International (ODI) tri-series against India, however, will be back for the series decider later next week at Perth.

George Bailey and David Warner will be seen back in action for the match against India. On the other hand, Mitchell Marsh, Xavier Doherty and pacer Josh Hazlewood are likely to get chances too.

Bailey was suspended from playing the fourth ODI, for slow over-rate in the third ODI against India.

Johnson last played the Boxing Day Test match, but was seen bowling strong at the nets at Sydney during the weekend.

Bailey was quoted by Cricket Australia’s (CA) official website stating that Johnson was ready but will be rested till the tri-Series final, which will be played at WACA. As a result, Johnson will have three matches to prepare himself, ahead of the ICC World Cup 2015. He will not only get the tri-series final, but the two warm-up matches against India at Adelaide Oval and against UAE at Melbourne.

While Australia are yet to lose in the tri-series, England won one game against India.

Bailey said, “What’s really pleasing at the moment, and this is in all formats, is the depth we’ve got and the way guys can seamlessly come in from outside the squad and immediately start performing.”
