Mitchell Marsh: I’m not scared of Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel

Australia batsman Mitchell Marsh, who scored a half-century in his side’s huge win against Zimbabwe in the opening match of the Zimbabwe Triangular Series 2014, says that he is not scared of the likes of Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel ahead of the clash against South Africa.

“I’m certainly not scared. It’s [Zimbabwe] almost my second home now I’ve played [almost] more cricket here than at the WACA,” said Mitchell, whose father Geoff was the coach of the Zimbabwe’s national side. Mitchell has also spent a lot of time playing in the African nation as a part of the Australian A sides.

“I don’t think turn the corner is the right way to put it but we all know I’ve probably had a few ups and downs but my big focus over last 12 months has been progressing as both a person and staying on the park. Hopefully I can keep doing that. It’s been a great few months,” Mitchell was quoted as saying by The Australian.

“[The team] has certainly shown a lot of faith in me and hopefully I can repay that. I feel like I’m ready to take on that challenge. If you score enough runs and take enough wickets you’re going to be playing for Australia,” exuded Marsh.

Marsh was unfortunate as he missed out on a deserving century, having scored 89 off 83 balls with the help of seven fours and four sixes as Australia pummelled the hosts by a margin of 198 runs in the opening match of the triangular series.
