Australia’s all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the T20 series against Pakistan in UAE this month. Marsh is also likely to miss the One-Day International (ODI) series to played after the T20s. Marsh had picked an injury during Perth Scorchers’ match against Lahore Lions. Marsh had injured his hamstring during the match. He however batted with the pain to help Perth chase Lahore’s total in the final league match of the tournament.

“He’s not playing the T20 and he’s unlikely to be OK for the one-dayers,” physio Alex Kountouris was quoted as saying by Cricket Australia’s official website. “The timelines are just too tight and we’re probably not going to have a crack at it I don’t think. He’s moving around OK and seems OK. We’ll wait and see for the Test matches how he progresses. There’s certainly enough time for the Test matches. It’s just a matter of getting his bowling back up, that’s going to be the tricky part.”

Marsh is the second player having injury concerns in Australia’s 14-member T20 squad as Mitchell Johnson too hasn’t fully recovered.
