Mohammad Asif arrives late during spot-fixing trial

Banned Pakistan pacer Mohammad Asif, one of the accused spot-fixing scam, failed to appear in the beginning of the trial on the eighth day before arriving at 12.40pm. According to the court rules defendants are supposed to be present during the trial at all times.

Banned Pakistan pacer Mohammad Asif, one of the accused spot-fixing scam, failed to appear in the beginning of the trial on the eighth day before arriving at 12.40pm. According to the court rules defendants are supposed to be present during the trial at all times.

 

Asif so far, has arrived for every other day in good time, smartly dressed in a suit.

 

At the start of proceedings Asif’s legal representative Alexander Milne QC informed the jury “you may have noticed that Mr Asif is not here” but did not provide any particular reason.
