Reactions have been floating on social media ever since the announcement was made that India would not be travelling to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy.
According to former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez, it was a different kind of ‘dream’ for many to see India visit Pakistan for an international ICC event. He also made comments at India, saying that India is the only country which does not consider Pakistan to be ‘safe’.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) sent an email to Pakistan Cricket Board on Sunday nigh to inform them that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will not be able to send Indian team to Pakistan due to security concerns.
The PCB now forwarded this issue to the government in order to get some sort of help or guidance. According to Hafeez, Pakistan is safe and secure to host the tournament. He also stated that he is waiting from a reaction from the government and the PCB.
“It was a day dream that India will come to Pakistan to play #ChampionsTrophy2025. Pakistan is safe & ready to host the event. Pakistan hosting all cricket nations at home but somehow not *secure* for India. Waiting for strong & surprised response from government & PCB,” Hafeez wrote on X.
