One of the most anticipated movies of the year, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, now has hit a roadbloack for its release in the state of Maharashtra. One of the most influential leaders in the state, Raj Thackeray has issued a warning to the makers of the movie, not to release the Marathi dubbed version of the movie in the state. The Maharastra Navnirman Sena’s (MNS) film wing has a problem with the Marathi dubbed version of the movie. If the movie is released in Marathi, it will be the first ever that a Bollywood movie is dubbed in Marathi and released simultaneously along with its Hindi version. The workers of the MNS are although, giving the makers a hard time as they go ahead with the idea. According to them the release of a Marathi version will cost the Marathi movie makers, who are already facing financial crisis and struggling in the entertainment industry. The party has also sent a letter in this regard to Fox Star Entertainment, the producers of the film. The letter reads –  “When Maharashtrians readily go and watch Hindi movies in theatres, why release a dubbed version in Marathi? We will not tolerate this. Please take serious note that you will be responsible for whatever situation arises further.”

It will be interesting to see if the makers of the movie, stay away and limit themselves from the lines drawn by the MNS or take a bold action and go ahead with the release of themovie in a Marathi version as well. Nonetheless, the issue will certainly be clear when the movie hits theatres on September 30, 2016.
