Indore: Indore Police busted a cricket betting racket and arrested four persons for allegedly placing bets worth Rs 60 lakh on the IPL match played between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Lions last night. Acting on a tip-off, the police raided an apartment in Sarafa area here last night and caught Pankaj Patidar, Dharmendra Solanki, Vikas Patidar and Sourabh Khandelwal for allegedly betting on the match, Additional Superintendent of Police Devendra Patidar said today. He said the raid was conducted when the IPL match was going on in Kanpur, a city in the Uttar Pradesh state of India and the four were allegedly placing bets on it. Documents carrying details of transactions worth Rs 60 lakh were seized from their possession, he said. Besides, Rs 3,500 cash, four TV sets and 12 mobile phones were also recovered from them, the ASP said. Police suspect that the four persons may be associated with a gambling racket at the national level. Further probe in the matter was on, he added.
