Pakistan‘s middle-order batter Nain Abidi scored a healthy unbeaten 37, as it was her crucial innings that allowed Pakistan to finish on 97 for the loss of 7 wickets against India, in Match 7 of the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup T20 2016, at the Asian Institute of Technology Ground in Bangkok on Tuesday. Apart form Abidi, it was opener Ayesha Zafar, who too scored a handy 28, while Iram Javed was the third double figure scorer with just 10 runs. As for India, it was Ekta Bisht, who claimed 3 wickets for just 20 runs, while Anuja Patil and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur contributed equally to claim 2 wickets each. Earlier, Indian skipper Mithali Raj won the coin toss and elected to field first, as Pakistan were off to a slow start, with 22 runs on the board, when Javeria Khan fell for mere seven to Ekta Bisht, after being caught by Mithali in the fourth over. Just 12 runs later, she was followed by the skipper Bismah Maroof, who fell for just 2 to Anuja Patil, after being caught by Bisht in the seventh over. While opener Ayesha Zafar, who seemed to be going good, fell for 28 at the score of 44 in the 11th over to Anuja, after being caught by Sushma Verma.

The partnerships were the biggest concerns for Pakistan which they failed to come up with, as 19 runs later, it was Iram Javed, who fell for mere 10 to Harmanpreet, after being caught by Preeti Bose, in the 14th over. Nida Dar, who was expected to fire, fell for just 4 again to Harmanpreet in the 16th over, at the score of 70.

Asmavia Iqbal too failed to fire, as she was dismissed for a mere single to Bisht, after being caught by Veda Krishnamurthy in the 17th over, as the score read 73 for 6, while the final wicket to fall was in the form of Sana Mir, who was dismissed for just 6 to Bisht, after being stumped by Sushma in the 19th over at the score of 97, as it was the pair of Abisdi and Sidra Nawaz, who batted until the end to take Pakistan to 97 for the loss of seven wickets.
