New Zealand Land in India Ahead of One-Off Test Match with Afghanistan

In advance of their one-off Test match against Afghanistan, which is set to begin in Greater Noida on September 9, New Zealand came here on Thursday.
The Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground will host the one-off Test, which will be the first red-ball match between the two countries.
The BlackCaps have selected a formidable squad to face Afghanistan in the test match.

The team, which still has Tom Latham as vice-captain, will be led by veteran pacer Tim Southee and feature players like former captain Kane Williamson, who decided not to sign a central contract earlier this year, Devon Conway, Glenn Phillips, and Rachin Ravindra.
For the Test, the BlackCaps have five alternatives for spin bowlers: Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner, Ajaz Patel, and part-timers Phillips and Ravindra. On Friday, they’ll have their first practice.
The World Test Championship two-match series versus Sri Lanka will be preceded by the test match against Afghanistan.
Following their tour of Sri Lanka, New Zealand will play Rohit Sharma and his team in a three-match Test series in India as part of the WTC schedule.
