The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced that there will not be any increase in the monthly salaries and match fees of the players till January 2012.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced that there will not be any increase in the monthly salaries and match fees of the players till January 2012.
PCB’s weak financial condition is the reason behind the Board failing to increase the salaries, match fees and other perks of its centrally-contracted cricketers, reports said.
A PCB official informed, “Cricketers in the A category will continue to earn a monthly salary of Rs 250, 000, while those in the B category will receive Rs 175, 000. Players in the C category will earn Rs 100, 000 per month.”
However, the official added that the players are likely to get a hike in the contract by January next year, as the country’s cricket board has recently received US$ 16 million from the International Cricket Council as a compensation after it was stripped off the hosting rights for the 2011 World Cup, an amount which is likely to be materialised by then.
The salaries and match fees of the Pakistan cricketers have not been raised from last two years, The Indian Express reported.
Meanwhile, Pakistan are set for Zimbabwe tour consisting one Test, three One-Day Internationals and two Twenty20 internationals starting August 28.
