Rajkot: Gujarat Revenue Department has issued a notice to the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) for allegedly encroaching on government land adjoining its stadium on the city outskirts. A Mamlatdar (revenue officer) of Paddhari taluka issued the notice asking the SCA to reply within seven days or face legal action and penalty. “It has come to our notice that 2.5 hectares of land has been allegedly encroached by the SCA. You are asked to reply within seven days. If you fail to do so, legal action would be taken against the association,” Mamlatdar B K Patel was quoted as saying in the notice. Before issuing the notice, a team from the department was sent to ascertain whether the SCA had encroached on the the government land near the stadium, a venue for IPL as well as international matches, at Khandheri village.  Live Cricket Scorecard:Delhi Daredevils vs Gujarat Lions, IPL 2016 Match 23 at Delhi

Ealier, Chris Morris’s 32-ball 82 goes in vain as Gujarat Lions (GL) edge out Delhi Daredevils (DD) by 1 run in Match 23 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016. Earlier, DD won the toss and elected to bowl. “We’re just following the trend and would look to chase down the target,” said DD captain captain Zaheer Khan during the toss. Zaheer started the proceedings by leaking 18 runs in the first over. GL openers McCullum and Smith grabbed the DD bowlers by their collar and took them to the cleaners. The duo scored fastest 50-run stand of IPL 9 off just 23 balls. They couple meaty blows with cheeky ones and put DD on the back foot. They stitched up 112-run partnership for the first wicket and laid foundation for the middle-order batsman.
