Ahmed Shehzad scored his fourth Test ton in the first match against New Zealand on Day One at Abu Dhabi on Sunday. His 100 came off 221 deliveries.
Earlier, Mohammad Hafeez and Ahmed Shehzad got Pakistan off to a tremendous start. The openers overcame an agonisingly slow start to score boundaries at run in the second session. Shehzad especially came out of his shell in belligerent fashion, taking the Kiwi spinners Mark Craig and Ish Sodhi apart, sweeping ferociously when they over-pitched, and cutting and pulling if they ventured too short.
