Shannon Gabriel grabbed his maiden 5-for against Pakistan in the second Test in which hosts have mounted a big total of 452 in their first innings. Gabriel the right arm paced bowler was very instrumental in holding Pakistan to such a big total as he dismissed top order batsmen throughout the two days of the match so far. Gabriel grabbed the wickets of opener Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq who was playing on 96, Sarfraz Ahmed and Zulfiqar Babar to get to his maiden 5 wicket haul. Babar was the last man to be dismissed from the Pakistan’s innings and also Gabriel’s fifth wicket of the match.  FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: Pakistan vs West Indies, 2nd Test at Abu Dhabi

Gabriel previously had the figures of 3 wickets for just 10 runs against Zimbabwe which was played on 12th of March 2013. Irrespective of Gabriel’s 5 wickets, hosts Pakistan still managed to score a mammoth total of 452 in their first innings following 33rd Test hundred from Younis Khan and 96 runs from Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq. Asad Shafiq also played a crucial knock of 68 early into the match while wicket keeper batsman Sarfraz Ahmed played a quick innings of 56 from just 59 balls to help Pakistan reach a total of 400. It was Pakistan’s fast bowler Sohail Khan who frustrated the West Indian bowling towards the ending stage of the game as he played an aggressive run a ball innings of 26 which was laced with five cracking boundaries. Gabriel finished with the figures of 23.1-1-96-5. LIVE CRICKET UPDATES: Pakistan vs West Indies, 2nd Test at Abu Dhabi

West Indian skipper Jason Holder was the second best bowler for the visitors as Holder got 3 wickets as he finished with the figures of 22-8-47-3. West Indian bowlers have lacked the consistency to capitalise on the situation and maintain their domination as they had various opportunities throughout the 4 sessions of the game that have happened so far. Pakistan lost their captain Misbah today as the first wicket of the match which was followed by the wicket of Yasir Shah who had walked in as a nightwatchman at the end of Day One after Younis Khan departed. Yasir also played a cameo early ion the first session as he 23 off just 31 balls against the fast West Indian bowling with the new ball. The visitors have already suffered a 56 runs defeat in the first Test which was also the first day-night Test match between these two teams played with pink-ball and overall the second Test in international cricket; with the first being played between Australia and New Zealand in 2015. West Indies when they come out to bat have a big task of first surpassing the target of 452 which has been put up by Pakistan and then they have to make sure that they end up their innings well above Pakistan to attain some domination in this Test match which has been actually dominated by Pakistan due to Younis’ ton and Misbah’s 96.
