The 2025 edition of Champions Trophy was hosted by Pakistan in a hybrid model, with India playing all their matches in Dubai. After the tournament ended with the Men in Blue emerging victorious, reports claimed that the PCB suffered a loss of 85%, which amounted to INR 869 crore. However, in a press conference, the PCB turned down these reports, claiming all of them to be fake and nothing other than the propaganda of Indian media.

In a press conference, PCB spokesperson Aamir Mir and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Javed Murtaza has stated that they had made no loss in the Champions Trophy 2025, and the rumors of loss were made by none other than ‘Pakistani enemy’ i.e Indian media.

The main purpose of today’s press conference is to expose the propaganda of the Indian media which is being done with reference to the Champions Trophy and it is being said that the Pakistan Cricket Board has suffered a heavy loss due to this tournament. So, the Pakistani enemy, the Indian media, as usual, has set up a shop of lies which we will destroy today. So, whatever was going on in the Indian media, it is a pity that it was also run on the Pakistani media but the facts are exactly the opposite of this,” Aamir Mir said.

All expenses for the tournament were covered by the ICC,” Mir said. “PCB generated revenue through gate money and ticket sales, and after the audit, we expect an additional PKR 3 billion from the ICC,” he added.

As per some arrangements made between India and Pakistan (confirmed by ICC), the two countries are not going to travel to each other’s grounds in any ICC event till 2027. Hence, they will play at neutral venues, and India will most probably face Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2026 in Colombo.

Aamir Mir stated that if BCCI managed to cause any financial loss to PCB by refusing to send the Indian team to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025, then India will face losses much worse in the 2026 T20 World Cup.
