Players from India A and South Africa A celebrate Onam

On this auspicious occasion, the players from the touring South Africa A joined hands with India A cricketers and celebrated it in a customary way by donning a traditional attire, Mundu, a Malayali costume.

Onam is a Hindu festival majorly celebrated in the state of Kerala in India. It is the state festival of Kerala with four state holidays. It is also known as the harvest festival of Malayalis and remarks the beginning of the month of Chingam, the first month of Malayalam calendar. The carnival of Onam lasts from four to ten days. This festival is about the Vaman avatar of Hindu god Vishnu.

 

On this auspicious occasion, the players from the touring South Africa A joined hands with India A cricketers and celebrated it in a customary way by donning a traditional attire, Mundu, a Malayali costume.

 

Rahul Dravid, the coach of India A side wished all Keralites on this occasion. South African player Dane Vilas wished the same and tried his luck by speaking Malayalam.
