The Quadrangular series between the A teams of India, Australia & South Africa and India B has been shifted out of Vijayawada due to heavy rains in the region. The region has been experiencing incessant rains due to the low atmospheric pressure created in the Bay of Bengal over the past few days.

The cancellation of matches in Vijayawada was confirmed by an Andhra Cricket Association official after four games were washed out without a ball bowled. According to a report published in ESPNcricinfo, Bengaluru is likely to host the rescheduled tournament with the league fixtures slated for August 23, 25 and 27. The final will be played on August 29.

The matches may be held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium and the facility at Alur on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

The ACA was confident of hosting the matches but rains coupled with thunderstorms made matters difficult to handle and led to an eventual rescheduling of the tournament.

After the Quadrangular A series gets over by the end of the month, Australia A and India A will travel to Vizag to take part in the 2 four-day fixtures scheduled to take place on September 2-5 and September 8-11 respectively. Australia is treating this A series as preparation ground for Test matches against Pakistan to be held in October in the UAE.
