Rahul Dravid revealed how he gave up being superstitious while delivering the Dilip Sardesai Memorial Lecture 2014 on Friday in Mumbai.

“Syed Kirmani noticed in my early days that I was a superstitious. He said these will affect my game. But when you hear these from a guy who has won the World Cup you take them seriously. After that I hardly had any superstition.”, he said.

Earlier, Dravid had spoken about Dilip Sardesai. “Everything I know about Dilip Sardesai is through stories. His partnerships with Eknath Solkar, he once kicked the ball towards boundary when he knew the batsman was ready to run five. There is a great parallel with cricket’s oral tradition and our guru-shishya (teacher-student) relation.”, he said.
