Rahul Dravid likely to coach India Under-19 and India A: Report

Dravid has no history of working with the Indian national team after his retirement, apart from mentorship in 2014 England tour.

Former captain Rahul Dravid, who is not a member of the newly-constituted advisory committee for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly being considered for the coaching role with India Under-19 and India A. According to ESPNCricinfo, the Indian cricket board has a ‘role in mind’ for Dravid, who has enjoyed lot of success working with the young cricketers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR). READ: Rahul Dravid to help BCCI ‘when the time comes’, says Anurag Thakur

Dravid is believed to have wished for a more hands-on role, but at the same time he was reluctant towards the position of the head coach of the Indian national cricket team, majorly because of the demands of the job. The end of Duncan Fletcher’s tenure as Indian coach has sparked speculations as to who will be the right candidate for the role, and Dravid’s name is being prominently discussed.
