Sri Lanka legend Kumar Sangakkara has picked his all time XI and it does not include Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar in his list. He has gone in with Rahul Dravid, who is the only Indian on the list, as an opener alongside Matthew Hayden. Dravid playe at the No. 3 position for most parts of his international career, but also tasted success when he opened the innings once in a while for India. His team included Ricky ponting at No. 3, brian Lara at 4 and Aravinda de Silva at No. 5, also the captain of the side. Jacques Kallis is the team’s all-rounder with Adam Gilchrist as its wicketkeeper. READ: Sangakkara, Warne and other cricketers picking all time XIs
Sangakkara has gone in with both Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan in his XI. He believes that both of them can wreck havoc in any conditions and can do so in any part of the world. His pick in the fast bowling department is very interesting. He has picked two left-arm seamers in Wasim Alram and Chaminda Vaas, who has picked over the likes of Glenn McGrath. Over the last week or so there have been many cricketers, who have picked their all time XI. Like Sangakkara, some of them raised a few eyebrows by not picking Tendulkar in their team. Some like Brendon McCullum has been a bit biased as he picked Tim Southee and Trent Boult as his fast bowlers as he believes that they transformed the New Zealand Test side under his captaincy. Cricketers like Jason Gillespie, Ian Bell, Eoin Morgan and Angelo Mathews too have picked their all time XI recently. READ: Sachin Tendulkar only Indian in Brendon McCullum’s all-time XI
