Rahul Dravid has denied Sourav Ganguly’s claims that he knew everything what Greg Chappell was upto but still couldn’t control him.

According to a report in Zeenews.com, Ganguly had earlier commented that Rahul Dravid knew everything which was going on but still couldn’t control Chappell.

Ganguly was quoted as saying, “I was not surprised to see India not qualifying for the next round (in 2007 World Cup). When I came back to the team, I had spoken to Dravid about that much later and told him that these were the things going on. He said he knew it all but ‘couldn’t control Greg.”

But Dravid in an interview with Headlines Today refuted the comments made by Sourav Ganguly and said, “If Ganguly is saying I could not control Greg Chappell, he is entitled to an opinion. He has played many years for India. But he can’t put words in my mouth as I have never had any such conversation with him.”

The controversy started after Sachin Tendulkar wrote in his autobiography that Chappell asked him to replace Dravid as the captain of the Indian cricket team just before the ICC World Cup 2007.
