Maharashtra picked up three points on the basis of taking the first-innings lead in their Group C Ranji Trophy match against Andhra Pradesh.
Andhra were 237 for seven in their second innings when the four-day match ended at the Y S Raja Reddy Stadium. Maharashtra had scored 440 in their first innings in reply to Andhra’s 317, with Kedar Jadhav scoring a strokeful 173.
Resuming their second innings at an overnight 27 for 1, Andhra rode on Gonnabattula Chiranjeevi’s patient 85 and useful contributions from the lower middle-order on the final day of the match. For Maharashtra, Anupam Sanklecha picked up three for 52.
