Mumbai have beaten Uttar Pradesh by a comprehensive 121-run margin on the final day of the Ranji Trophy 2016-17, Round 6 at Mysore. Chasing 294 for a win, Uttar Pradesh the day on 43 for 1, needing 251 more runs on the final day, with nine wickets in hand. Shivam Chaudhary and Samarth Singh put on 81 for the second wicket, but after Chaudhary was dismissed, Uttar Pradesh went through a batting collapse and from 105 for 2, they were bundled out for just 173. Spinners Aditya Dhumal and Vishal Dabolkar were the pick of the bowlers for Mumbai, finishing with five and four wickets respectively. LIVE Cricket Score Ranji Trophy 2016-17, Day 4, Round 6

Dhumal and Dabolkar picked up two wickets apiece in the first innings as well. Having won the toss and elected to bat first, Mumbai put on a disappointing 233 on the board, largely because of Suryakumar Yadav s 99. Shreyas Iyer, Aditya Tare and Dhumals got into the 30s, but did not consolidate on their start. Kuldeep Yadav did extremely well, finishing with four wickets. Uttar Pradesh in rply, were on the cusp of taking a first innings lead, but fell short by just eight runs. After starring with the ball, Kuldeep struck a sublime fifty to help his side out of trouble. Rinku Singh top-scored with 70.

Taking a 8-run lead into their second innings, Mumbai were bowled out for 286 , with Suryakumar Yadav once again top-scoring with 90. There were useful contributions from Abhishek Nayar and Siddesh Lad, who scored 39 and 35 respectively. Also, fast bowler Shardul Thakur scored a useful 48, coming in at No. 9.

With this win Mumbai have now won three out of their five matches, drawing the other two. Baroda n the other hand are yet to register a win in the tournament. They have three draws and three losses from their six matches.
