Tamil Nadu have done well and were well placed at stumps on Day two of the Round seven encounter of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2016-17 encounter against Punjab at Nagpur on Tuesday. Tamil Nadu batsmen played well to put 284 runs on the board for the loss of four wickets and are now trailing by just 66 runs with six wickets in hand. They are certainly in a comfortable position and one can expect them to gain a healthy lead in the first innings and put pressure in the opposition. Kaushik Gnadhi played well and remained unbeaten on 75 while Vijay Shankar has got a good start and is alive at the crease on 32. Baba Indrajith added 16 runs before Manpreet Gony got the better of him. Dinesh Karthik looked good and played a good hand for his 54 after which Rajwinder Singh dismissed him. They have played well so far and will look to add more damage on the opposition on Day 3. Manpreet Gony bowled well and chipped couple of wickets while Sandeep Sharma, Rajwinder Singh had one wicket apiece. Earlier, Punjab were bowled out for 284 as Krishnamoorthy Vignesh had four wickets to his name. Aswin Crist also had three wickets while Aushik Srinivas and Vijay Shankar too steamed in and picked one wicket each. Manan VOhra played well for his 73 and Uday Kaul was run out for 56. Gitansh Khera also played a good hand and remained unbeaten on 40.
