Andhra finished at the score of 99 for the loss of 3 wickets in 25 overs against Goa, on Day Two of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2016-17 Round 8, which is being played at the Railway Stadium, Dhanbad. The second day of this match began with Goa’s second innings. Andhra had already got the lead of crucial 44 runs. Saurabh Bandekar top scored from Goa with his quickfire 79-ball 75, which included 9 boundaries and 3 sixes. Despite the early blow, Goa batted much better as compared to first innings. Kauthankar departed after scoring 61, followed by Misal and Samar Dubhashi’s wicket as well. Soon, Shadab Jakati too went back to pavilion and Goa were once again in trouble with seven wickets at 156. Bandekar came into prominence to rescue his side along with Rituraj Singh by adding 71 for eighth wicket. Bandekar made 75, while Rituraj contributed with 33. In the end, Goa were bundled out for 276 and set the target of 233 for Andhra. From Andhra’s bowling department, Hanuma Vihari got most wickets as he scalped three wickets.

Coming out to chase, Andhra too had an awful start as they lost three early wickets at the score of 36, but they recovered well to end the day on a positive note. Dwaraka Ravi Teja and Ricky Bhui remained unbeaten till the end of day’s play with 134 more to win.
