Mumbai continued their dominance in Group C, as they tamed Odisha by 120 runs on the fourth and final day of Round Four of Ranji Trophy.

At Bhubaneswar: Record champions Mumbai continued their dominance in Group C, as they tamed minnows Odisha by 120 runs on the fourth and final day of Round Four of the Ranji Trophy 2017-18 at the KIIT Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. Having won the toss and elected to bowl, Mumbai were put into bat, as they scored an average total of 289, with Basant Mohanty claiming four for 51. In reply, Odisha scored just 145, as Abhishek Nayar and Vijay Gohil claimed three wickets each. In the second innings, it was again an average innings of 268 for Mumbai, as Suryakant Pradhan claimed three for 106. Nevertheless, the target was a big one and Odisha succumbed to 292, as Dhawal Kulkarni and Akash Parkar claimed three wickets each. At Vizianagaram: Andhra Pradesh too came up with a fascinating performance as they tamed Madhya Pradesh by eight wickets in their Group C tie on the fourth and final day of Round Four of the Ranji Trophy 2017-18 at the Dr PVG Raju ACA Sports Complex in Vizianagaram on Saturday. Having won the toss, Andhra opted to bowl, as MP were dismissed for 321, while Yarra Prithviraj claimed four for 56. In reply, Andhra scored 376, while Mihir Hirwani claimed five for 82. In the second innings, MP were bowled out for cheap 119, courtesy Bandaru Ayyappa’s five for 34; while MP eased to a win by eight wickets. MP’s Ayyappa was adjudged the Man of the Match.

At Vadodara: Baroda could not repeat the heroics from the earlier matches as they settled for a pale draw against Tripura in their Group C tie on the fourth and final day of Round Four of the Ranji Trophy 2017-18 at the Reliance Stadium in Vadodara on Saturday. Winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Baroda were put into bat as they scored a heavy total of 521, courtesy Vishnu Solanki’s 116. In reply, Tripura could manage 436, courtesy of  Smit Patel’s 158. In the second innings, Baroda could only manage 85 for the loss of six wickets, with Abhijit Sarkar claiming five for 18, as the teams settled for a draw in a competitive encounter. Baroda’s Atit Sheth was adjudged Man of the Match.
