Tanay Thyagarajan, the 23-year-old left-arm spinner, added two wickets on the final day, to claim a maiden five-wicket haul on debut as Hyderabad walked away with three points as their Ranji Trophy 2018-19 Elite B Round Three match against Delhi ended in a draw at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Friday.

Resuming their overnight score at 245/6, Thyagarajan had Vikas Mishra for 1 and cleaned up Lalit Yadav for 77 before Simarjeet Singh was trapped lbw to Mehdi Hasan, who claimed two wickets in his 30 overs.

Gourav Kumar was then run out by Himalay Agarwal for five as Delhi were folded by 339, with a deficit of 121.

In their second essay, Hyderabad cruised to a 134-run opening stand with Tanmay Agarwal smashing nine boundaries en route to his 111-ball 82 before he was trapped to Delhi captain Nitish Rana. Rohit Rayudu and Sumath Kolla were unbeaten on 61 and 8 respectively as Hyderabad were 156/1 were stumps were drawn on the final day.

With the three points, Hyderabad have zoomed to third place with five points in three matches, while Delhi are at sixth position with four points in two matches.
