Andhra responded strongly to Himachal Pradesh‘s first innings total of 460 with Gnaneswara Rao, still unbeaten on 89, sharing an opening-run partnership of 95 with Prasanth Kumar to end day 3 of their Round 6 Ranji Trophy 2018-19 Elite B match at 175/1 on Sunday.

The 95-run partnership was broken by Prashant Chopra, who trapped Kumar leg before. Kumar scored a fine 52 off 142 deliveries, his innings laced with six boundaries.

At stumps, Rao, who struck 12 boundaries and one six in his 161-ball knock, had Jyothisaikrishna batting on 16.

Earlier, Himachal added 140 runs before being bowled out for 460 with centurion Ankit Kalsi adding 17 runs on the penultimate day before he was dismissed by Jyothisaikrishna. Manish Golamaru was the pick of the bowlers for Andhra with three wickets in his31.4 overs going for 102 runs.
