Visitors Gujarat have taken a massive 184-run lead against Maharashtra with skipper Priyank Panchal and opener Kathan Patel slamming centuries on day two of their Ranji Trophy 2018-19 Round 8 Elite A match in Pune on Monday.

After bundling out Maharashtra for 230 on Sunday, Gujarat ended the second day at 414/3.

Resuming their first innings at 41/0, Chintan Gaja and Patel conjured 107 runs for the opening wicket. Gaja was the first to go after he was trapped lbw to Anupam Sanklecha for 53. Patel then combined to add a massive 141 runs for the second wicket with Gujarat captain Priyank Panchal. Patel brought up his century, but was soon cleaned up Chirag Khurana and departed for a fine 107 off 170 balls – his innings laced with 15 boundaries.

Panchal kept the scoreboard ticking and walked after a scintillating 141 off 209, his knock decorated with 14 boundaries and one six. At stumps, Manprit Juneja and Rujul Bhatt were batting on 81 and six respectively.
